We start with a felled branch from out at Grandpa Duane’s woods. We cut to size, hollow out the living quarters, add an entrance hole and a perch. Then the cedar roof is added as well as a removable base for yearly cleanout. An eye hook is attached to the top so you may hang it from a tree or shepherds hook.
Choose the color hue of the bark you want on your birdhouse, either brownish gray tones like an oak, ash, or basswood, or choose a white tone like birch.
